The DNA of Dufour Yachts

In the world of monohull sailboats, Dufour Yachts is the embodiment of quality and luxury. Since the shipyard’s inception, our sailboats have continually featured increasingly modern designs.

Since 2002, naval architect and designer Umberto Felci has been designing monohull sailboats for Dufour, creating boats that combine aesthetics, performance, and ergonomics. Since the launch of the Dufour 41, designer Luca Ardizio has been responsible for outfitting the interiors of Dufour yachts. His experience and expertise create the luxurious and modern spaces sought after by owners.

Every model in the range is carefully crafted at the La Rochelle shipyard. Special attention is given to the sturdiness of our monohulls, made from polyester using infusion techniques.

A Perfect Blend of Innovation and Expertise

Offering ever more innovative monohulls with the latest technical advances is an integral part of Dufour’s DNA. The shipyard explores all new manufacturing techniques to ensure strength, performance, and environmental respect. However, Dufour remains committed to preserving the seafaring spirit of sailboats, rooted in the long nautical tradition.

Infusion Process

In addition to its ecological benefits, the infusion process used in Dufour monohulls ensures quality and durability. This technique involves evenly distributing resin into a mold. The result is a robust structure while maintaining the lightness essential to a Dufour sailboat. It’s a way to optimize all the mechanical and meteorological constraints that boats may face at sea.

Advanced Navigation Systems

For several years, Dufour has built a trusted partnership with B&G Electronics, which equips all the boats in the range. Dufour monohulls are thus fitted with these cutting-edge technologies. Integrated onboard computers and GPS systems make navigation easier thanks to their user-friendliness and accuracy.

Various sensors are installed on the boats to collect essential navigation data: wind strength and direction, currents, and the speed of the sailboat. These data are essential for adjusting the sails or determining a course.

Besides their technical utility, these systems also allow for safe sailing, reducing concerns and enabling sailors to fully enjoy the sea breeze.

Why choose a Dufour monohull sailboat?

Reliability and Durability

Acquiring a Dufour monohull means opting for reliability and durability. The materials used in Dufour’s construction guarantee long life and constant safety. Enjoy instinctive sailing and the pleasures of the sea.

Aesthetics and Reputation

In addition to the performance offered by Dufour yachts, you can count on refined aesthetics, with modern lines and a luxurious appearance. Elegance is a given, making Dufour yachts a source of pride for their owners.

This reputation that Dufour has built is the result of passionate work by the shipyard teams. It drives them every day to surpass themselves, ensuring the construction of prestigious boats.

Customization and Owner Satisfaction

To ensure complete satisfaction for future owners, Dufour Yachts offers the option to customize their sailboats. Interiors are modular, and different moods can be chosen, allowing everyone to create a sailboat in their image.

Fittings are also left to the owner’s choice. Depending on the desired version, the number of winches or the types of sails can vary. The navigation equipment can also be customized as desired. This allows every sailor to choose the best possible setup for the tools accompanying them at sea.

Testimonials from owners demonstrate the strong satisfaction that comes with acquiring a Dufour monohull. The numerous nominations for our sailboats in various competitions attest to the confidence the international press has in us.

What Customizations for Your Monohull Sailboat?

Depending on the chosen model, Dufour allows you to personalize the layout of your monohull: two kitchen layouts, modules of your choice, and navigation equipment. These layout options come in addition to selecting materials and colors for the boat’s interiors.

A Front or Side Kitchen

On most Dufour monohulls, you can choose between two kitchen layouts. Each version has undeniable advantages and alters the interior space to suit your preferences.

The front kitchen is divided into two parts at the front of the interior saloon. The first section offers a stovetop, an oven, and a countertop with storage. The second section features a sink and a refrigerator with a countertop and storage. This option saves space in the interior saloon and allows more seating at the table.

The side kitchen extends along the starboard side of the monohull. As with the first version, all essential kitchen equipment is available, along with ample storage and countertops. This kitchen layout ensures everything is within reach for daily tasks. Additionally, this kitchen is fully open to the interior saloon.

Customizable Modules

The monohull sailboats in the Dufour range offer several modular options that can be installed based on the owner’s preferences. The number of cabins can also vary, ranging from two to five, depending on the model.

Two types of bathrooms have been designed by Luca Ardizio, Dufour Yachts’ interior design partner. The first serves as both a toilet and a shower, equipped with a sink and very practical storage. The second is solely a shower but features a beautiful wooden bench in addition to storage.

These bathrooms can be replaced by two other modules of a completely different nature: a cabin with Pullman bunk beds or an office space, a major new feature in Dufour sailboats.

Rigging Options

On deck, your Dufour monohull adapts to the type of sailor you are. Whether you sail solo or with a crew, everything is designed to find the perfect arrangement of the equipment. For instance, you can choose the number of winches in the cockpit or opt for electric assistance. B&G electronic aids (autopilot, GPS, etc.) are placed on one or two pods.

Owners can also choose between several types of sails, packages for additional anchoring equipment, or even the installation of a bimini, among other options.
